Aquaculture pioneer joins INVE Aquaculture

October 25, 2013  By Julie Delabbio

Earlier this year INVE Aquaculture, strengthened its technical expertise by adding Randall L. Aungst to its team of hatchery experts. Aungst, like INVE, has been a pioneer in the aquaculture industry. From the early 70’s when he worked as a respected technician, he has designed, built and managed numerous successful shrimp hatcheries in both the Americas and Asia.

Until recently, he was Managing Director of the aquaculture division for Nobleworld Consultants, Ltd. While working for Black Tiger Aquaculture, he helped renovate and manage a 220-hectare farm that had been closed in 1996 because of White Spot. Aungst was able to turn things around and the farm is now making a profit. While at the farm he designed and managed the first SPF Monodon breeding program in Asia, which as of today has 5 generations.

With Inve, Aungst works as Global Technical Support Manager and as a consultant for shrimp hatcheries worldwide that use or plan on using INVE Aquaculture products. Says Aungst: “Having worked in commercial hatcheries for nearly 40 years, I’ve always looked at INVE Aquaculture as a reliable and valuable partner. Our industry wouldn’t be where it is today if it weren’t for companies like INVE. I look forward to both supporting our customers with advice, and to introducing the newly developed Best Balance concept, something I truly believe in.”
