Veramaris announces record production levels to support sustainable aquafeed 

Algal oil producer Veramaris said it reached record production volumes in 2023, contributing to the supply of alternative sources of Omega-3 EPA & DHA for aquafeed. 

The company said it achieved its goal of addressing the market’s growing need for sustainable Omega-3 EPA & DHA, which has risen with the global trend toward greater demand for aquaculture and healthy seafood.

“We are now poised to scale up sustainably, streamlining our production processes and forging new partnerships,” said Gertjan de Koning, CEO of Veramaris.

The company said this output growth was achieved with a marginal increase in greenhouse gas emissions, reporting a 3 per cent rise in total greenhouse gas emissions. It also registered a 27 per cent lower product carbon footprint in its ongoing efforts to decarbonize and improve the efficiency of its operations.
